The Origin of the S.O.A.R. Playground Program

Our signature program, created in 2006, promotes positive interaction between students on school campuses, and in the community, by enhancing awareness and generating positive attitudes. This dynamic program facilitates and encourages friendships between students with special needs and their classmates, making playgrounds a more fun and welcoming place. Trained peer coaches provide their partners with support in playground navigation and social interaction. Contact us for more information about this award-winning program.

The History of Positive Discipline

Positive Discipline is based on the theories of Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs, and brought to life by Dr. Jane Nelsen and Lynn Lott in the early 19080's. Dr. Nelsen is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Child Counselor in San Diego, CA. Her doctorate degree in Educational Psychology from the University of San Francisco in 1979 is secondary to the education and experience she achieved from her successes and failures as a mother of seven children.

Both Sue and Tatiana have had the privilege of studying under Dr. Nelsen. Sue currently holds certifications as a Positive Discipline Educator and an Empowering People in the Workplace Facilitator. Tatiana is a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, and is fluent in both Spanish and English.
